Visitors and residents of the Bradenton/Sarasota area can enjoy an array of cultural performances usually reserved for much larger cities. Live theater and the community’s own ballet, opera and symphonies provide year-round performances. The Players Centre for Performing Arts is a non-professional community theatre in Sarasota, and since they are located on the "Cultural Coast" an incredible talent pool is available. The West Coast Black Theatre Troupe  in Sarasota over the past ten years has produced over 30 main stage productions and has gained a reputation for the uniqueness and quality its performances. Carollwood Players Theatre

Carrollwood Players Theatre is Tampa’s longest continuously operating community theatre company. Carrollwood Players presents nine plays each season. In addition, there is an Annual One Act Weekend where aspiring playwrights can submit their scripts and if chosen, get their worked performed on stage. The Tampa Repertory theatre presents plays, old and new, with an emphasis on American drama. The professional theatre company creates high quality theatre designed to attract a multi-generational, culturally diverse audience. The first production occurred in July, 2011  and since then, they have continued to present a mix of plays, from the classic (Hamlet) to the contemporary (White People),  along with their American focus, notably with a series of plays by Tennessee Williams.

Francis Wilson Playhouse

Francis Wilson Playhouse offers traditional theater to the community  by offering an 8 show season. A genuine part of Clearwater’s history in its 86th year. A charming, intimate place to watch a production and lots of fun. You can get good theater without living in a big city and paying $100+ for tickets. This playhouse has good actors, singers, etc., and the price is very reasonable.

The second-largest out of 10,000 community theatres in the United States, it is located Venice.  Its Main Stage offers seating for 432 patrons and features musicals, plays, concerts and special events.  Its Yvonne Pinkerton Theatre seats 90 patrons and is home to the theatre's "Generations", Stage II and Cabaret Series.

The Charlotte Players are one of the oldest performing arts organizations in both Charlotte County and the State of Florida. The theatre program of the Department of Fine and Performing Arts at the State College of Florida presents four or five shows annually. .  These comedies, dramas, mysteries and musicals are presented in either the Neel Performing Arts Center or in the new David S. & Anne V. Howard Studio Theatre. The productions are staged by professional directors, most of whom also serve as full-time or associate theatre faculty.

The Largo Cultural Center  is a great place for a concert or show.  Just an hour north of Bradenton this performing arts center has excellent acoustics in a small, intimate setting and it has a great bar. Lemon Bay Playhouse was formed April 1987 to enrich Englewood and surrounding communities through theatrical productions.  The demand for performance tickets has since increased to the point where plays presented in season, sell out, often by opening night. Each year the Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra located in Ft. Myers, presents a series of five Masterworks concerts featuring music from the great symphonic repertoire. Typically one of these programs is a “Discovery” concert, with a multi-media explanation of the music. The Orchestra presents four pops concerts including a family-oriented Holiday Pops plus three chamber orchestra programs.
